Crimson desert mode5/7/2023 ![]() It’s hard to get a good shot on Ixion in this mode of attack, so it’s worth standing back and dodging the incoming orbs until Ixion slows down. Its second form of attack is a flying swoop through the battlefield that also fires off a spiraling wave of blue orbs that home in on you. While it’s shooting the force field, Ixion also fires off a bunch of blue orbs that home in on you, making it pertinent to dodge past them as soon as you hit the ground. Its first attack is sitting in the center of the platform and emitting a massive blue forcefield that does massive damage and rapidly moves outward in all directions. This time, Ixion alternates between four modes of attack. In phase two of the Ixion fight, you’ll need to be more mobile. As long as you continue strafing and dodging, you can avoid getting hit here, and you can make quick work of its health bar by using your Alt-Fire attack each time it recharges. Your best bet is to run and gun, dodging Ixion’s onslaught of blue orbs while keeping your crosshair pinned on it. It also periodically flies across the map, so be prepared for that! These waves come in different shapes the deadliest one to look out for is the massive spiral of blue orbs that home in on you. In Ixion’s first phase, it will stay airborne and fly around the map while shooting waves of blue orbs at you. You can do the most damage by focusing your fire on the head. Much like the Phrike before it, Ixion is a tough battle that you'll want to be thoroughly prepared for. Like the other bosses, the Ixion fight covers three separate “phases” that you’ll need to complete as you whittle down each of Ixion’s three health bars. You’ll face Ixion on the mountain summit at the very end of Returnal’s second biome, the Crimson Wastes. Welcome to the Ixion boss guide! You will eventually come across a gateway to the Derelict Citadel which is separated from you by a grappling point. You will eventually reach the summit by following this path. By following this path, you'll eventually reach the foot of the mountain.Īs you fight through the innards of the mountain, seek out short-range translocators as they gradually teleport you upwards. This pathway will take you through several abandoned villages with plenty of Side Paths from which to level up your gear. ![]() ![]() Starting from the Crimson Gate, you'll want to progress through the zone toward the bright yellow beacon. You'll stay on a straight path as you cross the valley and proceed up the mountain, making it easier to know which direction is the correct one. Exploring the Crimson Wastes is much more straightforward than exploring the sprawling Overgrown Ruins. ![]()
